Heritage Breeds, Sized for Small Farms

Based in Southern California, Outlander Highland Cattle Co is a farm breeding and raising smaller Scottish Highland, High Park, Galloway, and Mini Jersey cattle. We fell in love with these ancient breeds for their gentle temperaments, stunning looks, and remarkable hardiness, and their manageable size makes them a natural fit for limited acreage.

  • Scottish Highland. The shaggy, horned original: hardy, gentle, and smaller-framed in our lines.
  • High Park. Highland hardiness with the White Park pattern: white coats with red or black points.
  • Galloway. Belted or white, polled, and famously easy-going, with a coat built for weather.
  • Mini Jersey. A family milk cow at about half the size, with the Jersey's sweet nature and rich milk.

Behind them are our White Park, British White and White Dexter foundation cows, and our own ParkWay cross of High Park and Galloway. The donkeys and sheep who travel with the herd to events have a page of their own: Farm Animals.

Our animals are herd-raised with quality nutrition and daily attentive care, and our calves stay with their mothers until they're ready to wean. Growing up in their natural social structure alongside the rest of the herd, they mature into healthy cattle with docile temperaments.

Whether you're a family, a homesteader, a hobby farmer, or looking for gentle animals for your breeding program, we'd love to help you find the right fit.
